Michael joined Lambert Coffin as an associate in 2005 after serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Jon D. Levy of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. Michael’s practice focuses on representing commercial clients with debt collection and other creditors' rights matters.  He also represents businesses, lenders, and individuals in commercial and real estate transactions.

Michael received his B.A. from Northwestern University in 1990, and earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Maine School of Law in 2004. In law school, he was the managing editor of the Maine Law Review and served as a legal writing instructor. Upon graduation, he received the Maine Law Alumni Association Award. 

Prior to attending law school, Michael trained and worked for fifteen years in the culinary arts field, mastering all aspects of the restaurant business. He ultimately owned and was the head chef of an eclectic, successful Portland restaurant. Michael brings his first hand understanding of the pleasures and terrors of running a small business to his work advocating for the interests of Maine businesses and individuals.

Since 2006, Michael has served on the Board of Directors of Cumberland County’s Regional Transportation Program. He lives in Portland with his wife, Megan, and sons, Liam and Callum.
