“I tell others that I love what I do because I get to listen to people tell their stories, and then help them with their problems, every day. I learn something new with each client, and never tire of listening to individuals tell me about the things that are important to them.” Sam has developed a deep expertise in all matters related to worker’s compensation. He has provided advice and counsel to both employers and employees on workplace injury issues under the Maine Worker’s Compensation Laws, the Longshoreman’s and Harborworker’s Compensation Act, the Defense Base Act, and the Federal Employees Compensation Act. He maintains a very active workers’ compensation practice, and has represented a large, multi-state grocery chain on employment-related issues for the last twenty-two years. When employment-related litigation arises, Sam’s employment clients are also well-served by his trial experience. He has effectively represented both employers and employees in discrimination matters, in state and federal court and before the Maine Human Rights Commission for state law claims and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for federal claims. Long involved in local charitable organizations, Sam is past president of the Board of Directors of the Regional Transportation Program and a past president of Maine Theatre. He lives in Falmouth, Maine with his wife and two children. |
