“As my client, my work for you is driven by a desire to achieve true understanding – of you and/or your business, your problem, your adversary, and the rules that govern or should govern your situation – and to design effective, imaginative strategies that are right for you.” Terri has also represented businesses and individuals in estate-related disputes, including undue influence claims and suits otherwise involving inheritance rights. She joins her many years of courtroom experience with the expertise of the firm’s business and estate planning attorneys to give clients sophisticated and complete advice in the estate and probate areas. Terri’s diverse practice has included representation of clients in intellectual property matters. Terri has counseled a number of clients, including artists and businesses, on the enforcement of their copyright, trade secret, and trademark rights against infringers, competitors, and former employees. Family law cases involving parental rights in the context of non-traditional families, including custody disputes between same-sex couples, are a special interest of Terri’s. She has represented clients before the Maine District, Superior, and Probate Courts on these issues and successfully litigated, through trial, one of the first few cases in the state to apply and define the concept of de facto parental rights. Terri lives with her partner and their son in Gray. In her spare time, she enjoys kayaking, the visual arts and literature, and throwing pottery. REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS: Gardner v. Podiatry Ins.
